Principal: Mr. A. Pesina

Mr. Pesina is a high school graduate from Porter High School in Brownsville, Texas. He received his Bachelors in Business Administration and completed his Master’s Degree and Mid-Management Certification from the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, Texas. He has taught at the elementary level. Mr. Pesina has been an Assistant Principal with Edinburg CISD for eleven years, and he has completed his 15 years of service to Edinburg C.I.S.D. Mr. Pesina has been principal of Esparza since 2017

Curriculum Assistant: Mrs. A. Benavides

Mrs. Adrienne Benavides is a 1990 graduate of Edinburg High School. In 1995 she received her Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University College Station. Mrs. Benavides continued her education and received a Masters in Education in 2006 from the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, Texas. Mrs. Benavides obtains her Teacher Certificate in Bilingual Education Grades 1-6 and Principal Certificate EC-12. She has experience as a 5th grade teacher, Spanish Teacher, Instructional Lead Teacher, and is currently the Curriculum Assistant at Esparza Elementary.

Counselor: Mrs. D. Garza

Mrs. Denys Garza is a 2004 graduate of Rio Grande City High School. She attended the University of Texas Pan American and graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Elementary Education- Bilingual. In 2019, she received a Masters of Education in Counseling and Development from Lamar University. She has 14 years of experience in bilingual education from grades PK through fourth grade.
